Macedonian patriotic hero Goran Angelov, the president of the MPZ  ‘Andon Lazov Janev – Kjoseto’ has been targeted by the ‘UCK’, a known Albanian terrorist organisation with links to ISIS and Al-Qaeda.

After the UCK ‘ultimatum’ that was sent to the Macedonian Government by the listed terrorist group in response to the verdicts in the “Divo Naselje” criminal case, the UCK have ramped up their threats and targeted openly patriotic Macedonians. In an act of long-term retribution, they have chosen Goran Angelov, who is a civil activist and former member of the Special ‘Lavovi’ unit of the Security Forces in the Republic of Macedonia during the 2001 Arachinovo invasion.

They have officially and publically made Goran Angelov and his family their target and have put a bounty on his head stating, with a photo that “this is especially for you Goran Angelov. Some of those in the picture are still alive and you will find that out quickly”. The incident has been reported to the authorities, but the response has been underwhelming.

The police have not offered any support to Mr Angelov or his family, stating that ‘it wasn’t their problem’. Such threats from a terrorist group towards citizens are required be processed in an official capacity, but there was no investigation even after the announcement of the threat on social media. The explanation from the Ministry of the Interior was that it was “a document that was copied many times and could not be investigated”.

In a brief conversation with Goran Angelov today, he stated: “ I will not wait for the police to protect me and my family because the way I see it, the failure to act on behalf of the police actually supports the terrorists and I am ready to take responsibility for my own safety”.

As of last week, there were over 150 ethnic Albanians that are known UCK terrorists originating from Macedonia that are currently registered as former and current ISIS operatives and with ISIS on the retreat, many have made their way back to the streets of Macedonia. The unofficial international headquarters for the UCK is surprisingly located in Skopje and not in Kosovo as many might think.

The UCK and their affiliated terrorist organisations ISIS and al-Qaeda want to impose their religious and political views on the rest of humanity. They want to stifle every freedom that decent, peaceful people care about and yet, judging from the level of minimal condemnation that UCK now receives, you would think opinion ran the other way.

Murdering the innocent to advance an ideology is wrong every time, everywhere. Defending a nation from tyranny is eternally right. The people of this nation must continue to speak out for justice

and truth. We must always be willing to act in their defence and to advance the cause of a unitary, sovereign and the free Macedonian nation. This is the story of our time. If the current situation does not change, for the rest of our lives, and the lives of our children, we are going to be regularly confronted by terrorists who don’t want to live peacefully in a pluralistic world and are willing to destroy the Republic of Macedonia along the way.

We need to extend every assistance and protection to those leaders in our community like Goran Angelov that take a stand and place themselves directly in the line of fire. We need to rise on their behalf and assist them any way we can. We need to offer the protection they need by whatever means we can.

After some deliberation, Goran Angelov has authorised World Macedonian Congress-Australia to run an appeal on his behalf and we urge all Macedonians to try and assist in any way that they can. The donations will go towards the protection of Goran and his family and are being collected through the World Macedonian Congress – Australia. We ask you to transfer funds with the REFERENCE- ‘Kjoseto’ attached so that we can allocate them accordingly.

There will be a full transfer of all monies raised with no fees or retention of funds for administration.  This is a direct donation and all transfers will be itemised and published for transparency.
